Your system only pays you back when it is clean.

Your system is losing power every dry day

  • University of California researchers measured 186 real California solar systems. Dirt cost them about 0.05% of their power each dry day — and one in four systems dirtied twice as fast.
  • Our dry season is about six months long. Left uncleaned, a typical system ends the fall about 9% down. A fast-dirtying system ends it about 18% down.
  • On a typical house, one uncleaned dry season throws away about 210 units of power — $84 worth of power the home already paid to be able to make. Fast-dirtying homes lose about double that.

Small dirt, big losses

  • In a measured test, grime covering just half of one percent of a panel cut that panel’s power by 9%.
  • A grime band along the bottom edge of a panel — exactly where framed panels collect it — cost 20% or more in a rooftop field study.
  • One bird dropping can overheat a single cell and drag down its whole string.

Rain does not finish the job

  • Rain rinses loose dust. It does not remove pollen film, bird droppings, the bottom-edge grime band, or the living film of algae that grows in shady, foggy spots. Those have to be brushed off by hand — that is what a visit is.
  • The panel makers say the same thing. Panasonic’s own guidance is to wash panels twice a year. Maxeon recommends regular cleaning in dry regions with under about 18 inches of rain a year — San Jose gets about 13.5.

The money, plain

Example — every home’s plan is priced from its own panel count.

  • One cleaning on its own: $400. Booked twice as two singles: $800 a year.
  • The same home on the Solar Care Plan: $600 a year. The homeowner saves $200 a year — and never has to remember to book, because the dates are already set.

Caught early, not later

  • Every plan visit includes a look-over of your panels and mounting, a pigeon and critter check, and a photo report the same day. Small problems get seen while they are still small — and plan homes get priority scheduling.
